What’s this All About, Really?
Bipolar Dissent is my space (and my pseudonym) to express how my living a life with bipolar 1 has been and where I hope it may go. It’s roughly a once-weekly email newsletter focusing on my experiences. I am not here to give advice, but that’s not to say that one can’t learn, or feel “seen,” by anything I write. I’ve had a therapist for at least a decade now that I speak to weekly and I’ve also had more than my fair share of DBT courses (daily classes typically spanning for 1-3 months a few times a year now), so some of that “knowledge” may be present too.
It’s light, it’s heavy, it’s in-between. I write as my mood (and meds) change.
That it’s taken me roughly a decade to write about bipolar 1 publicly, is neither here nor there. This is now part of my coping mechanism: for dealing with bipolar, for all the grief in my life, for what I what was to what I am now (which is really the same thing).
